WORK REFLECTION GROUP

An opportunity to develop your understanding of group processes and enhance your groupwork.

An online group which is open to anyone who is interested in thinking about their groupwork with others.  Places are also offered on the in-person group subject to availability – contact the administrator for further information.

 

  • The Work Reflection Group is a supervision group which provides a safe, supportive and stimulating space in which members reflect on their clinical and organisational work using group analytic themes and concepts.
  • The group is the medium of supervision where the supervisee is helped to examine and understand their therapeutic relationships and to enhance their skills as therapist and group facilitator.
  • The Work Reflection Group is suitable for group therapists/ facilitators, reflective practice group facilitators, organisational consultants, teachers or anyone wishing to learn more about and enhance their understanding of the groups they work with.
  • The group is facilitated by an experienced Institute of Group Analysis (IGA) Training Supervisor.
  • The group meets 10 times a year on Fridays between 4.45pm – 8.15pm alongside the block training weekends for the IGA Foundation, Diploma and Qualifying courses.  Places are also available for the in-person work reflection group based in Bolton.
  • Entry points: October for online group and September for the in-person group.

Online Work Reflection Group Supervisor: Kay Young

Kay Young is a Group Analyst, from a background in Education, Child and Family Social Care, Adolescent Forensic Services, Adult mental Health/Child and Adolescent mental health within the NHS.

Kay currently works as a Group and individual Psychotherapist in the third and private sector.  

In addition Kay is a former Clinical Supervisor on the GAN qualifying course, and is a current seminar leader with GAN.
