CHAIR – Daniel Anderson
Dr Daniel (Dan) Anderson is a consultant psychiatrist, group analyst and medical psychodynamic psychotherapist working in the NHS at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, Manchester, in the department of psycho-oncology, and in private practice online and in Manchester. Dan previously has worked as the medical director of The Retreat hospital in York and has held substantive and honorary academic positions at the Institute of Mental Health (University of Nottingham), Bangor University, and the University of Central Lancashire. Dan is also an honorary research fellow in the Division of Cancer Sciences at the University of Manchester and is a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. Dan completed his PhD in 2020 at the University of Manchester’s Institute of Education which was based on his experience of training as a group analyst and the issues this raised for him surrounding sexuality and gender. He consequently authored the book, The Body of the Group: Sexuality and Gender in Group Analysis. He also has an interest in complex PTSD and its relationship to cancer care
DEVELOPMENT OFFICER – Mandy Wildman
Mandy works with GAN as the Development Officer. Whilst beginning her career in social work, she began working in the NHS in 2000, working in both community and inpatient services as a clinician and manager. After working for 13 years in Secure Forensic Mental Health Services she took early retirement and now works in private practice. Her psychotherapy trainings include group, cognitive analytic and mentalization-based therapy. She studied on the Advanced Course in Groupwork at the Red House, Manchester. Alongside clinical practice her areas of interest include developing effective team working within an appreciative leadership framework.
TRAINING AND ADMINISTRATION MANAGER – Bethan Marreiros
Bethan works part-time for GAN from home. In addition, she works at Newlands during each weekend block when the training takes place. Bethan deals with the application process for students, processing of payments and acts as the liaison between staff and students. Bethan also acts as Company Secretary.

SECRETARY TO THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES – Nadine Gregory
Nadine works part-time for GAN from home. She records and produces the minutes for the Board of Trustees, is responsible for the maintenance of the GAN website and for Foundation Course recruitment and support. Nadine can be contacted by email at clerical@groupanalysisnorth.com.
